Indigenous Mental Health - Module 02 - Shantee Part 08
 |
An hour has gone by and it’s almost time to get back to seeing patients. You ask again, “is it too late to help Shantee?”
“Well, she didn’t ask to be raised like she was and it wasn’t her fault there was nobody there for her when she needed it,”
chips in one of the Health Workers adding, “should be
something you could do.”
At this Max, who has been quiet through much of the group discussion suggests: “maybe it would be good to talk with some of the Justice Group or other elders, maybe some of her aunties so we all have the same understanding of where she is coming from. I’d be happy to help with that if one of the Health Workers can guide me”.
“OK Max, that sounds great. But right now let’s go and see her, I think she’s here with Jason”. |
