Indigenous Mental Health - Module 05 - Bob Part 04

Case study
The liaison officer asks Bob if he would like to contact any family or friends to which he replies, “Nah, I don’t want them to know where I am.”  He tells you that his mother is OK but he doesn’t see his brothers because, when they drink and do drugs they end up starting fights and he can’t control himself. The Liaison Officer then asks if she could contact members of his family or friends in order to gather information about his previous functioning in the community, as well as their perspectives on health and mental health to assist with his assessment and possibly with the charges against him.  He tentatively agrees.
